Teresa brings her sharp financial skills as a Senior Accountant and Payroll Manager at BGI LLC to her role as Treasurer for Friends of Santa, but it was actually Nancy who first got her involved in the organization. Having worked together for many years, Nancy knew Teresa would appreciate the mission of making sure everyone can enjoy the holiday season, even during hard times. What keeps Teresa motivated? Simple: seeing how happy it makes the children.

As someone who comes from a large family (as does her husband), Teresa truly understands the joy of the Christmas season. Her favorite tradition is having the whole family together to decorate the Christmas tree, though she admits it's gotten more challenging now that their adult children live out of state. But they're determined to make it happen, even if it means decorating virtually sometimes.

Teresa and her husband have called the Charleston area home for 18 years. He's a retired meteorologist from the National Weather Service, while their daughter works as a preschool teacher in Colorado and their son just moved back to the area after two years in Florida, where he works as a software tester. Teresa has been a Friends of Santa volunteer shopper in previous years and joined the board about a year ago, bringing her organizational skills and big heart to help local families during the holidays.
